Bob as "THE SPAMMAN"

The connection with SPAM began from Bob's being poked fun at for his love for SPAM. After Bob played along with the joke for a while he contacted SPAM via www.spam.com and requested some SPAM gear which Bob received and wore proudly. Once Bob received his slot in the 1999 Ironman Triathlon World Championship in Kona, Hawaii, he contacted SPAM regarding sponsorship and a wonderful relationship had begun. He renewed his sponsorship with Hormel and continued as the SPAMMAN throughout the year 2000, participating in six long distance triathlons, including the 2000 Ironman Triathlon World Championship. As a result of his relationship with Hormel and his proud representation of the product around the globe, Bob was asked to be the Grand Marshall for the 2000 SPAM JAM festival in Austin, MN. Bob Brubaker as THE SPAMMAN continues in 2001 with another contract between Hormel Foods and Bob has been renewed as Bob races which include Florida, Hawaii, New York, and other places, always wearing the familiar logo wherever he races or trains.
